Enjoy a more casual wedding in the heart of Massachusetts’ apple country at Hyland Orchard & Brewery. Our farm is a unique orchard set on one of the highest elevations in the charming town of Sturbridge, MA. The beautiful hillside, with unspoiled surroundings, provides an idyllic setting for any occasion. We host one wedding per day, April 15 -September 30 (Friday’s in October also available for booking).

The Hyland Orchard Wedding experience begins with the Ceremony on the Hill. Our Ceremony area is located above the Orchard and overlooks the beautiful hilltops of the area. It is serene, breathtaking and unique. It features custom bench seating for approximately 100 Guests with ample standing room for additional guests. The Custom Arbor frames the picturesque orchard backdrop. Our vintage John Deere tractor wagon ride transport guests to the Ceremony on the Hill (seats 16 guests per trip) and loops through the Orchard until all guests have arrived. Guests love this fun feature and truly enjoy the integrative experience. There is also access to park a few cars at the Hilltop, if necessary. It is a beautiful stroll from the Pavilion, as well (350 yards). Please note that because of the remote setting, there is no access to electricity. Djs and musicians use a small generator or battery operated system. We’ve had everything from a full band, to playlists via wireless speakers to a groom serenading his lady with a guitar.

The Hyland Wedding continues on to the Pavilion Reception. The Pavilion is spacious enough to seat up to 150 Guests. The Pavilion is cement floored with a covered roof. The Pavilion features gorgeous windowed sliding wooden walls that enclose the area in the case of inclement weather. The bar boasts custom beam light fixtures which give it a rustic, yet polished feel. The Pavilion features a platform stage for musical acts and DJ’s (no PA is included).

We are now booking for the 2018 Hyland Wedding. The 2018 Saturday rate is $4,500. Fridays are $2,500 and Sundays are $3,000. We book Friday-Sundays in April for the discounted rate of $1,500. Fridays in  October are also available at that discounted rate of $1,500. Dates book quickly. Please book your tour with Doe at Weddings@HylandOrchard.com.

The 2018 Hyland Wedding pricing includes the Ceremony and Reception rental sites for a total 6 hour period. Additional hours are available at the rate of $100 per hour (events may begin as early as 12pm and must conclude by 10pm, thus any 6 hour increment is possible). We also include seating for 150 Guests (utilizing our 60″ round tables and white resin padded chairs). Tractor rides to the Ceremony site and the famous Hyland fire pit are also included in the 2018 rate.

We have ample field parking and beautiful new indoor bathroom facilities, just steps away from the outdoor Pavilion.

Wedding meals are provided through our partner, Hearthstone Catering (the catering division of Annies Country Kitchen). The catered fine food selections offer buffet-style options. All catering contracts are treated separately. Please email Lenny at anniescountrykitchen@verizon.net (once you have booked/placed your deposit with Hyland). Linens rentals are also provided by our Exclusive Caterer. Please view the six custom-designed menus, specially designed for The Hyland Wedding.

BAR OPTIONS: Hyland Orchard offers a delightful beer and wine selection. We feature 6 brews on tap including 4 tasty ‘Mainstay’ Rapscallion brews. The beer cost is $6 per 16oz beer. We also offer hard cider for $7. We feature local wines: including red, white (Ballet of Angels) and blush (Maidens Blush from Nashoba Valley), $6 per 6oz. Sangria is available (for a fee) upon request, made with fresh Orchard fruit. There is a prep and fruit fee. Sparkling wine (Brut) may be specially ordered for a Champagne Toast.  Soda and water are $2 apiece.

Please note that Hyland Orchard & Brewery is licensed only to serve beer and wine. No outside beer, wine or liquor permitted. We do not allow any outside beverages.
Please note that we serve beverages in plastic. A popular way to avoid using the plastic, is to provide mason jars to serve beer and wine. These may be purchased from an outside source and brought in for the bartender to serve your drinks in. They must be 16oz jars to be utilized. All glassware must be taken off-premise at the conclusion of the event. They also make a great wedding favor, should you decide to buy and customize them.

There are 3 options for the Bar arrangement. Cash Bar, Open Bar and limited Open Bar (with a monetary cap). Cash bar would provide beverages, payable by the Guest. Open Bar means providing drinks free of cost to Guests and paying for the totalled tab at the end of the Event via cash, check or credit card (please note that 18% gratuity will be added to the bill).

To make your Event even more special (as Hyland is DIY), our jack-of-all trades, Doe brings her creativity and design background with Design by Doe, our sister company. She designed a menu of fun add-ons such as S’mores (for the firepit), The Lemonade Stand (lemonade and mint water served at the Ceremony) and citronella tiki torches. We have partnered with Doe (of Design by Doe), to offer this fun add-on menu. We also offer day-of decor services through Design by Doe. Doe, our Coordinator is available for hire to decorate your event. Since Hyland Orchard is a ‘DIY’ venue (meaning setup & breakdown of events are the responsibility of the wedding party), hiring Doe is a great way to keep your day dedicated to relaxing and celebrating. We kindly ask that you do not invite outside Coordinators or vendors for setup or cleanup, as we provide both services as add-ons. DbD currently offers 2 packages and an array of decor rentals which include growlers, wooden slices, antique jars, flameless candles and the list goes on!

 

Wedding rehearsals may be scheduled for the Thursday prior to your event. Please schedule with Doe. Please note that the venue is ready for decor at 10am on the day of your event, with tables set. Decoration preparations are the sole responsibility of the couple. Takedown and cleanup after 10pm is also the responsibility of the couple (of you do not add the Cleanup Service). This includes packing your decor and valuables, linens, etc. If you are using an outside catering company, please ensure they will have servers to clear plates, etc. This must be done same-night due to the fact we have an event next-day.

Doe is our Coordinator and is here to coordinate anything that deserves a great celebration (weddings, birthdays, reunions, christenings, dinners…any celebration that you can dream up, she can help bring to realization). Alongside Chris Damon, she designed the Ceremony of the Hill and was an integral part of the 2015 Hyland Orchard ‘reinvention’, which resulted in numerous upgrades and new features.
